6 children drowned in Ganga in Chunnar area

Mirzapur, May 14 (UNI) At least six children drowned in river Ganga in Chunnar area here today.

Police said the mishap took place in Barsaatpur village, where a group of children went to take a bath.

The deceased were later identified as Mili (12), Rinku (6), Pintu (12), Sunita (10), Somnath (12) and Satish (13).

A case has been registered.

Bangalore, Feb 15: The 'pro TN' Cauvery Tribunal verdict on sharing of Cauvery water between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu has again evoked displeasure among Kannadigas. Protests were held all over the state against the verdict on Feb 12, 2007. But the furore denies to die down. Tamil Nadu: Bus plunges into river, six killed

Thanjavur, Dec 27: Six passengers were killed and 25 others injured when the state transport corporation bus, in which they were travelling, fell into a river near Pattukottai in this district this morning. The bus was proceeding to Thondi from Muthupettai when it plunged into Nasuveni river at 0430 hrs. The inured were admitted to Pattukottai and Thanjavur govt hospital.UNI.....
