Lucknow, May 12 (UNI) After conceding defeat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Samajwadi Party -- set to emerge as the principal Opposition -- will chalk out strategy to take on the Bahujan Samaj Party in the 15th legislative assembly to be formed in the next two days.

The newly elected SP legislators will meet ''informally'' at the state party headquarters tomorrow morning where outgoing Chief Minister and party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav will discuss the strategy for the next assembly.

With 97 members elected to the new house, the SP has emerged as the second largest political party in the assembly. It is set to don the mantle of the principal Opposition in the 403-strong member house.

Samajwadi Party sources said here that earlier the meeting with the newly elected MLAs were slated this morning but as very few of them turned up, it was re-scheduled for tomorrow.

Incidentally, before August 29, 2003, when Mr Yadav took over as the CM, SP was the opposition party in the 14th assembly. He took over as the CM after Ms Mayawati stepped down following differences with her saffron ally.
