Raj: Vasundhara Raje leaves for 8-day foreign tour

Jaipur, May 12: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today left for an eight-day trip to Dubai and New York.

She will attend the inauguration of the ''India Festivel 2007'' in Dubai and attend a seminar on ''Invest Rajasthan'' to promote NRI investment in the state.

Ms Raje will leave for New York on May 14 to receive the United Nations Womens Together Award conferred on her this year.

The Chief Minister will fly back on May 20.

She was seen off by party leaders and cabinet collegaues at the Sanganeer airport.

New Delhi, Dec 14: Members of the Left parties, joined by those from Samajwadi Party, today staged a walk-out from the Lok Sabha insisting that they be allowed to raise the general strike issue suspending the Question Hour.As soon as the House assembled, Left, SP and RJD members stood on their feet demanding Speaker Somnath Chatterjee suspend the Question Hour. However, the Speaker refused to concede to their demand. The agitated members then walked out of the House.....

New Delhi, Dec 13: The CPI(M) today asked the countrymen to avoid travel on railways and other public transport tomorrow in view of its All-India General Strike to press for acceptance of the Left's 16-point charter of demands, including legislation to provide social security for the country's 370 million unorganised workers. Besides the four Left parties, other non-BJP, non-Congress parties including the SP, RJD, TDP, DMK and BSP will also support the strike, CPI(M)'s Lok.....
