K'taka: CM completes 25th villages stay

Sriramapura(Karnataka), May 7: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, continuing his 'Village Stay' last night stayed in a small farmer's house along with his deputy B S Yediyurappa.

This was Mr Kumaraswamy's 25th overnight stay in a village and this was for the first time Mr Yediyurappa joined him in his venture taken up after JD(S)-BJP coalition government came to power.

They were taken in a procession from Basava Pura to Sriramapura village and were accorded a traditional welcome late night.

Together they witnessed cultural programme. They were served food by house owner Venkatesh, belonging to Sudugadu Sidda Community, the most backward class in the State.

Overwhelmed with Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister's stay in his house, Mr Venkatesh said that "it was our luck that the Chief Minister is staying in our house and we will not ask anything more, we only appeal for welfare of the entire village".

Speaking on the occasions Mr Kumaraswamy said that his 'Village Stay' concept was not aimed at pleasing any one, it was bounden duty to know the ground reality and solve the problems. He would continue to do so in future also.

Both went round the village and received scores of applications from the villagers, mostly for the BPL cards, housing facilities, drinking water, employment for the youths besides proper bus facility to the village which has a population of 500.

Mr Kumaraswamy assured that suitable steps would be taken to full fill their demands.

India wants to crush PoK: Lashkar chief Saeed

Muzaffarabad, Dec.8 (ANI): The chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, the political wing of the banned militant organization, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has accused India of wanting to destroy Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.Saeed told Geo News that the ongoing operation in Pakistan Kashmir was under Indian pressure, and this was unwarranted.Saeed further said that the targeting of Kashmiri organizations without any proof was an expression of weakness.Earlier, wanted Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander, Zakiur Rehman Lakhwi was reportedly arrested by Pakistani army personnel.....
