K'taka to set up trauma centres along highways

Bangalore, May 3: Karnataka Health Minister R Ashok today said that the state government has planned to set up 44 trauma centres along the National and State Highways to provide emergency treatment to road accident victims.

Speaking to mediapersons here he said that the health department has released a fund of Rs 46.90 crore to set up infrastructure along the highways in the state.

The decision was taken following the increase in the accidents along the highways, he said adding that the government had sought the Centre to grant funds to take up the work.

The trauma centres would be working 24X7 basis with specialists available for treatment round the clock.

The government was also launching a new scheme called 'Madilu' to provide treatment to both mother and child in government hospitals. The scheme would apply to BPL families in which health kits for the mother and child would be provided free of cost.

Lucknow, June 7(ANI): Uttar Pradesh Police has decided to seek custody of conman Ashok Jadeja for duping tribals in the state's Mathura District.An FIR was lodged against Jadeja, his wife and eight others for swindling 22 members of the Bhaatu and Sansi tribes in Mathura District by posing as a godman.Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Brij Lal said a warrant is being issued and will be served on Jadeja, who is currently in police custody.....
