Bhopal, May 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today inaugurated the state's Ladli Lakshmi Yojana at Raisen district's Goharganj block headquarters and distributed National Savings Certificates (NSC) to 70 girls.

''The scheme's benefit will be available to a girl born on or after January 1, 2006 in a non-Income Tax payee family and female orphans. The parents should not have more than two offspring and should have adopted family planning. The child should be registered in an anganwadi,'' said Woman and Child Development Minister Kusum Mehdele, as per an official release.

At the time of registration, the government would purchase a Rs 6,000 NSC and of Rs 6,000 for the next four years and these would be renewed from time to time. At the time of girl's admission in the sixth standard, Rs 2,000 and on admission in the ninth standard Rs 4,000 would be paid to the girl.

When she gets admitted in the 11th standard she would receive Rs 7,500. During her higher secondary education she would get Rs 200 every month. On completion of 21 years she would receive the remaining amount, which would be more than Rs 1 lakh, the release added.
