MRPS Prez to fast-unto-death on SC issue

Two arrested for possessing gold ornaments

Visakhapatnam, Apr 19: Police today arrested two persons and 8.6 kgs gold &13; ornaments were seized from them in a raid here last night.Acting on a &13; tip off, a police team nabbed the duo Narendra Kumar Jain and P Ramana Reddy, &13; who were moving under suspecious circumstances in the Dwarakanagar bus complex &13; and seized the ornaments worth Rs 90 lakh from them..In another case, a &13; police team raided a CD shop in the city.....

DDU Hospital residents on indefinite strike

New Delhi, Apr 19: Resident doctors and interns in Deen Dayal Upadhayay (DDU) Hospital today went on an indefinite strike after a dead child's family attacked a doctor and nurse, alleging negligence in the patient's treatment. Medical services, including ICU, Emergency and OPD, were completely paralysed in the hospital as more than 400 junior doctors went on strike. Grade five employees also joined the strike as a paramedic was also assaulted. Patients are being turned away without treatment.....

Exports exempted from Service Tax

New Delhi, Apr 19: The Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) unveiled by the government today extends the time period of the DEPB scheme by another year, a new scheme for exports of high tech products, exemption of exports from service tax and gives a thrust to incentevise the agri-exports and agro-processing infrastructure.The policy launched by Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath has steps to ease export obligations under the EPCG scheme and brings under its ambit exports of new agri-products under.....
