Hearing on Nandigram case deferred till April 26

Kolkata, Apr 18: The hearing on the death of 14 people in police firing in &13;Nandigram was deferred for the second time this week at Calcutta High Court &13;today.

The division bench of Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghosh and Justice Biswanath &13;Samaddar which had postponed the hearing on Monday till today, further deferred &13;the hearing till April 26 giving adequate time to the petitioners and the &13;defendants to go thorugh the documents on the incidents which took place on &13;March 14.

The much awaited hearing was first postponed on Monday after the West Bengal &13;Government prayed for time to go through the documents submitted by the &13;litigants.

The hearing had been fixed for April 16 before a division bench headed by &13;Chief Justice Surinder Singh Nijjar.

But the case came up for hearing before the division bench of Justice Pinaki &13;Chandra Ghosh and Biswanath Samaddar as the Chief Justice was on leave.
