Published: Monday, April 9, 2007, 12:47 [IST]

Hyderabad, Apr 9: Twelve members of the Opposition Telangana Rashtra &13;Samithi (TRS) were today suspended from Andhra Pradesh Assembly for stalling the &13;proceedings of the House.

When the House reassembled after a brief &13;adjournment, Speaker K R Suresh Reddy named the TRS members who continued to &13;plunge the House into pandemonium demanding more Krishna water for flurosis-hit &13;Nalgonda district in the Telangana region.

Following this, Legislative &13;Affairs Minister K Rosaiah moved the motion for their suspension which was &13;adopted by a voice vote.

The TRS members, staging a sit-in in the Well of the House were bodily lifted by &13;the marshals. Earlier, the Speaker and Mr Rosaiah appealed to the members to &13;make use of the time allotted for their party during the debate for motion of &13;thanks to the Governor for his address to put forth their views. &13;

However, the members showed placards and raised slogans against the &13;government for alleged injustice in the allotment of the Krishna water for &13;Telangana region, forcing the Speaker to name the members.
