Oneindia's language portals complete 7 glorious yrs

CEO of Greynium Info. Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Dear Readers,

Our Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu channels complete 7 glorious years of operation in April 2007.

We were the first ones to take all the four South Indian languages seriously on the Internet. All credit goes to our excellent team that has been working religiously in serving you all. Your feedback emails, each of which I read, have always been very encouraging. Your constructive criticism has helped us to fine tune ourselves periodically.

As you all know 2007 has been declared as the "Broadband Year" in India. We are excited to see the growth of Indian language readers in India. We have patiently waited for this day. It is even more exciting to know that more resident Indians are reading our content.

We took a conscious decision few months ago to move to Unicode fonts. ThatsTamil has successfully moved to Unicode last week and I am happy to inform you all that it has been well accepted. Over the next two months all our language channels would have moved to Unicode. Oneindia would like to thank the developers of opensource Unicode fonts and especially the 'Indian Languages Group of Advanced Technology Center, TCS Hyderabad' for taking a leadership role in solving many Unicode font problems.

We have achieved many things over the last 7 years but we realize the potential is a lot more. We assure you that the new features we are implementing will not disappoint any of you.

Again, I would like to thank the commitment and passion of the team, which has built the four brands to such great heights.

I look forward to your continued patronization.

Yours truly,

B.G. Mahesh

Dear Mahesh, Congratulations on your recent achievement. I am proud that we as Indians abroad, are able to read the material you put out daily. I am sure your team has put in hundreds of hours in coming up with this, and so I wish each one of them all the best and would like to say "thank you". Grace
