Russian couple injured in road mishap

Varanasi, Mar 22 (UNI) A Russian couple was injured in a road mishap in the Rohania area here today.

Police said here that Rumanov and his wife Crionosovo -- both Russian nationals -- were injured when the car they were travelling by to Allahabad hit a stationary truck in Shahababad area under Rohania police station.

The duo were rushed to the district hospital here where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Beijing, Dec 29: Two consecutive explosions of detonators killed five and injured eight in north China and the death toll was expected to rise as rescuers searched through the rubble of flattened buildings, state media said today. Yesterday's blasts destroyed 10 rooms in four buildings in a residential area in Jining, a remote city of 200,000 in Inner Mongolia, Xinhua news agency said. NATO soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

Kabul, Dec 28: A NATO soldier was killed and three injured, one seriously, after a blast caused their vehicle to crash during a reconnaissance mission in southern Afghanistan, the alliance said today. It did not give the nationalities of the soldiers, nor more details of yesterday's incident in Helmand province, a Taliban stronghold. NATO said in a statement it was investigating.
