Manipur Assy concludes; CM asks politicians not to harass engineers

Imphal, Mar 22 (UNI) The first Assembly of the Manipur Legislative Assembly concluded today after two bills-- the Manipur Appropriation Bill No 1 and 2 were passed.

One private member resolution was put up which was defeated during the four day session.

The session started on March 16. Speaker Dr S Budhichandra said 39 starred questions and five unstarred questions were raised and there were five call attentions.

Seven members of each of the three financial committees were also elected.

Chief Minister O Ibobi participating in a discussion said engineers in the state have resumed their work after security was beefed up in the state.

The engineers launched a stir demanding non interference by the politicians and militants in their works.

He announced that the politicians have been asked not to interfere in the work of engineers.

Aizawl, Feb 22:  Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) has suggested to initiate an inter-state collaborative intervention to reduce the risk of flesh trade across Northeast as well as to arrest growing threat of HIV/AIDS in the region.A joint report of AusAID and National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) revealed that long due modification of school AIDS Education Programme and lack of motivation in designing awareness initiatives as well as inadequate provision for women friendly HIV testing are main reasons of spreading.....
