Lt Gen in AFMS not to retire before 60 yrs: Cabinet

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) The Cabinet today approved amendment to the provisions relating to the retirement age of the Armed Forces Medical Services Officers in the rank of Lt General and equivalent.

This will ensure that Lt General and equivalent in AFMS does not retire on superannuation before 60 years.

For officers in the rank of Lt General and equivalents (except DGAFMS), the retirement age would be two year tenure or on attaining 61 years of age whichever is earlier, but in any case not before 60.

For those in the rank of DGAFMS, the retirement age would be three-year tenure or on attaining 62 years of age, whichever is earlier, but in any case not before attaining 60.
