List of Gujarat BJP ST Front's post holders announced

Ahmedabad, Mar 22 (UNI) Gujarat BJP regional Scheduled Tribes Front president Atmarambhai Parmar today declared the list of post holders of the Front.

He made the announcement after discussing the matter with the Front secretary Anant Dave and regional president Purushottambhai Rupala.

Those figuring in the list include Atmarambhai Parmar (president of Surat), Shamjibhai Chavada (vice-president of Rajkot), Kantilal Solanki (vice-president of Mehsana), Sureshbhai Makwana (vice-president of Navsari), Naranbhai Makwana (vice-president of Gandhinagar), Manilal Parmar (general secretary of Ahmedabad), Bharatbhai Bhagat, Nareshbhai Chavada and Savitaben Shrimali (secreteries of Ahmedabad), N T Rathod (secretary of Banaskantha) and Natubhai Parmar (treasurer of Sabarkantha).

Lok Sabha takes up Tribal Rights Bill

New Delhi, Dec 15: The Lok Sabha today took up for consideration a bill seeking to recognise the rights of forest dwelling Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers who have been residing there for generations and vest in them such rights.The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Bill, 2006, as reported by a Joint Committee of Parliament which went into the details of the bill, was moved by Tribal Affairs Minister P R Kyndiah......

Shillong, May 22: Tribal land-owners have destroyed roads, about 20 km in stretch, to disrupt mining by the Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) in Meghalaya.
