J'khand serious over CBI probe in Shushanto murder case:CM

Ranchi, Mar 22 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said his government was serious about a CBI probe into the murder of Forward Bloc(FB) leader Shushanto Sengupta.

Mr Sengupta was killed on GT Road in Dhanbad on October 30, 2002.

Speaking in the Assembly he also said there would be no delay from the state government's side.

Earlier, raising the matter before the Question Hour FB's Aparna Sengupta, wife of the slain leader, expressed dissatisfaction at speed of investigation. She also said the accused had attained bail.

Ms Sengupta said she was facing threat to her life and urged the state government to intimite all these facts to the Centre.

Locals had also submitted a memorandum to the chief minister demanding a fair probe into the murder.

Most Japanese want to end Iraq war support: Poll

Tokyo, Mar 15: More than two-thirds of Japanese want to end an air force mission backing up U.S.-led military activities in Iraq this summer, when the mandate for the mission expires, a newspaper poll said today.Sixty-nine percent of those polled said they wanted the troops pulled out, while 75 per cent said the war had been a mistake, the daily Asahi Shimbun said.Japan withdrew its 600 ground troops from southern Iraq last year after a non-combat reconstruction.....
