Haryana assembly passes resolutions on metro extension

Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) The Haryana assembly today passed two official resolutions with regard to the extension of metro railway up to Sushant Lok in Gurgaon.

Moving the resolutions in the House, Parliamentary Affairs Minister said it was desirable that matters relating to construction works of metro railway and its operation and maintenance should be regulated by Parliament by law.

The Sushant Lok metro project, costing Rs 1422 crore, fell both in the areas of Delhi and Haryana, Mr Surjewala said.

The 9.2 km stretch in Delhi area would cost 734 crore while the 7.5 crore stretch falling in Haryana would cost Rs 688 crore, he said.

The resolutions were passed by a voice vote.

Earlier, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said regarding the metro extension up to Faridabad and Bahadurgarh, the RITES had already prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

Housing Corp official arrested for corruption

Hyderabad, Feb 27:  Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught red handed B Madhava Rao, Work Inspector of AP Housing Corporation at Pondur section in Srikakulam district when he accepted Rs 600 as bribe from the complainant.The ACB officials recovered the tainted amount from the accused and arrested him. Mr Rao would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases, Visakhapatnam, an official release said here.UNI.....
