Ranchi, Mar 22 (UNI) Opposition member Saryu Rai (BJP) today submitted a notice to Speaker Alamgir Alam, seeking to move a privilege motion against Finance Minister Stephen Marandi in the Jharkhand Assembly, alleging gross violation in the budget for the next fiscal.
Mr Rai alleged that Mr Marandi, also the Deputy Chief Minister, misled the House by mentioning intriguing data in his budget documents submitted to the Assembly.
The senior BJP leader said the budget report contained flaws, adding the Planning Commission had sanctioned Rs 6676 crore and the state government had also mentioned need of Rs 6676 crore for its plan expenditure.
He tried to bring home the point that Mr Marandi proposed to spend more than the consolidated amount for the next.
