Balehonnur recorded 2 cm rain in State

Bangalore, Mar 22 (UNI) Following si the summary of observations recorded in weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Balehonnur recorded 2 cm rain.

Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka.and South Interior Karnataka and Mainly dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka.

Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at many places over Coastal Karnataka and above normal at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Gulbarga recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.1 degree celsius over the State.

Minimum temperatures fell at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at many places over Coastal Karnataka, above normal at many places being appreciably so at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and were normal over North Interior Karnataka.

Mysore recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 18 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain thundershowers likely to occur at isolated places over interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather may prevail over Coastal Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at isolated places over Belgaum, Gadag, Dharwad, Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Kodagu and Mysore districts. Mainly dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of the State.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Partly cloudy. Maximum and Minimum temperature would be around 34 and 22 degree celsius respectively.

Qualcomm-Tata Teleservices launch Fisher Friend

New Delhi, Aug 2: Aimed at helping the fishermen community, Qualcomm today launched a new BREW-based mobile application, Fisher Friend, which will provide information about the weather, risks, opportunities and market information in local languages. Developed in collaboration with Tata Teleservices, Astute System Technology and M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), ''the application is currently under trial on the Tata Teleservices network in Tamil Nadu and will later be extended to other coastal areas,'' said.....
