Aftek in royalty arrangement with German BDT AG

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) Aftek Ltd today said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Arexera Information Technologies AG, has entered into a royalty tie-up with Germany's data storage system provider BDT AG.

Under the terms of the tie up, Arexera will license the company's search technology for BDT's new data storage device 'Gingcom Appliance'.

For each appliance sold by BDT, Arexera will be entitled for a royalty payment of about 250 euros. BDT is targeting sales of 50,000-70,000 Gingcom appliances through its own network as well as its OEM partners, during a full year of operation.

''Aftek is one of the few IT companies in India to aggressively pursue IP not just rely upon the traditional IT services model. This deal, which was won against intense competition from major suppliers, has only underscored to the soundness of this strategy,'' company Chairman and Managing Director Ranjit Dhuru said.

Gingcom is an IT-solution, which enables organisations to find, restore and use every document created or received through email, only through a single click, even after years.

It ensures that all PCs, notebooks, server, application systems, user data and profiles are automatically stored, doubly backed-up and are within legal compliance. The appliance was launched at the CeBIT 2007 held recently in Hanover.

GHCL wins $100 mn contract with Starwoods Hotels

New Delhi, May 13: Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd (GHCL) has bagged a 100-million-dollars multi-year contract with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc for supply and distribution of home textile products in North America.The deal has been done through GHCL's subsidiary Dan River Inc. ''GHCL has the potential to grow multifold by supply to Starwood's global portfolio of hotels and resorts,'' a statement said.Starwoods owns around 850 properties in more than 95 countries.UNI.....
