Vote on account for 2007-08 passed in Delhi Assembly

New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) The Delhi Legislative Assembly today passed the Vote on account for 2007-2008 and supplementary grants for 2006-07.

In view of the forthcoming MCD election in Delhi, Finance Minister A K Walia today sought a vote-on-account to enable the government to carry on its business and meet essential expenditure for the period between April to June.

The entire budget will be presented in the House in April, after the completion of the MCD election process.

Accordingly, the House passed the vote on account based on the budget estimates of Rs 18560.53 crore for 2007-2008.

The proposed budgetary expenditure is proposed to be funded from revenue receipts of Rs 13824.35 crore, share in Central taxes of Rs 325 crore, small saving loans of Rs 2906.49 crore, Central assistance of Rs 1032.80 crore and other receipts of Rs 471.89 crroe.

Supplementary demands for grant of Rs 8025.61 crore for the current financial year 2006-2007 were also passed by the House.
