Kar CM declines to comment on Mr Karunanidhi's denial on Cauvery

Bangalore, Mar 21 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today refrained from making any statement with regard to his discussion with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on the Cauvery river water issue.

When newsmen brought to his notice about the reported views of Mr Karunanidhi that he had not spoken to his Karnataka counterpart on the Cauvery issue, he said he did not want to react as it was a sensitive issue. " Wait for three or four days I will come back with an appropriate reply", he added.

He said issuing counter statement might vitiate the atmosphere and nothing was final in making efforts to resolve the issue. " I will make my best efforts to solve the problem," he assured.

The Chief Minister's reaction came hours after Mr Karunanidhi denied that he spoke to Mr Kumaraswamy about the Cauvery issue.
