Ahmednagar, Mar 21 (UNI) Shalinitai Patil (Cong), daughter-in-law of Balasaheb Vikhe-Patil, MP and former Union minister today became President of the 75-member Ahmednagar Zilla Parishad.

While Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) candidate Sujit Vasant Rao Zhaure became the Vice-President. Both won the elections unopposed.

BJP-Speakers Stalemate resolved

New Delhi, Dec 12: The stand-off between Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and BJP Parliamentary Party was resolved this morning with BJP MPs withdrawing their boycott of the House. BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that they had come back to the House only on ''certain assurance'' given to them by the Speaker.
