CBI arrests former Nithari Chowki-In-Charge

New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) The CBI today arrested former Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Simarjeet Kaur in connection with the Nithari killings.

Kaur was the Investigating Officer in the case when it was first taken up for investigation by the local police.

She has been arrested with regard the FIR about the rape and murder of Payal, a statement said here.

Investigation conducted by the CBI revealed that she took 'gifts and gratification' for herself and other persons from accused Moninder Singh Pandher and ''framed incorrect records'' with an intention to try and ''save him'' and his servant Surender Koli from legal proceedings and punishment in the case.

Chennai, Dec 29: Central Crime Branch Police have arrested the founder president of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Makkal Katchi S M Basha for writing and publishing a book in English, which criticises the epic Mahabharatha, here last night. Based on a complaint from Meenakhshisundaram, Secretary, Chennai District Hindu Makkal Katchi, police searched the house of Mr Basha and seized 70 copies of the book titled 'A Brief Anatomy of the Mahahabharatha'. Police files chargesheet in Malegaon blast case

Mumbai, Dec 21: Mumbai Police today filed a chargesheet against nine persons who have been arrested by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in connection with bomb blasts at Malegaon in Nashik district during September this year in which 25 people died. The 2800-page chargesheet was submitted to the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court judge M R Bhatkar. The court was informed that thirteen persons have been accused in this case.....

Ayodhya attack case: Hearing posted to Dec 19

Faizabad, Dec 11: The five terrorists arrested in connection with the attack on the Ram Janmabhoomi complex here on July 5, last year would now appear in the court on December 19. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court had transferred the sensitive case to the Allahabad High Court on December 8 but owing to certain technicalities, the accused would appear in the Faizabad District and Sesions Court on the fixed date......
