Arrest persons who give wrong information: TDP

Rajahmundry, Mar 21 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders today demanded that the police should arrest the persons who gave wrong information about party corporator Kappala Velugukumari, that she was taking girls for trafficking.

The complaint led to detain Ms Velugukumari for two hours in the police station, when she was going to board the train to Visakhapatnam on March 18 night.

The protest led by TDP district President Jyothula Nehru, former Minister Gorantal Butchaiah Chowdary, Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa and district official spokesman Ganni Krishna, went along with party cadres to DSP's bungalow and demanded DSP Ramakrishna to make public the person who telephoned and gave false information that the corporator was involved in trafficking.

The leaders said because of the pressure from the ruling Congress the police was not taking action on the persons concerned.

Mr Nehru said TDP would intensify the agitation until justice was done to the woman dalit corporator.

Meanwhile, SC corporators and SC sangh held rasta roko at Thadithota in the evening. They demanded that the police should take action on the persons concerned.
