JK pay ex-gratia to militancy victims of south Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 18: Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned ex-gratia relief for families affected due to militancy in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, an official spokesman today said.

The District Screening Committee (DSC), Anantnag discussed a number of cases pertaining to different militancy-affected families, and cleared 25 militancy related cases, sanctioning ex-gratia relief of Rs 18.62 lakh, he said.

Out of this, Rs eight lakh were sanctioned for the next of kin of eight persons killed by militants while Rs 10.62 lakh were paid to of three injured and for 14 cases of property damage.

Shillong, Mar 18: The Congress-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government has decided to move an official resolution in the ongoing budget session for the postponement of the move for delimitation of the Assembly constituencies in the state.
