Burglary in Gramya Bank, gold worth Rs 25 lk stolen

Jeypore, Mar 18: Miscreants have looted gold articles worth nearly Rs 25 lakh from the iron chest of the Utkal Gramya Bank at Ambaguda, about 25 km from here.

Police yesterday said the miscreants taking advantage of the isolated location of the bank, entered into it and decamped with the gold.

The bank employees found the chest open and the gold missing, when they entered the bank this morning.

Police immediately arrived at the bank and sealed all the exit points of the district to nab the miscreants.
