RJ Corp opens 300 'DisneyArtist' stores

Gurgaon, Mar 17: RJ Corp will open 300 'Disney Artist' brand merchandised stores all over the country at an investment of Rs 150 crore over the next five years.

These stores are being launched in India by RJ Corp through a licensing agreement between the group company, Devyani International Ltd (DIL) and the Walt Disney Company India Pvt Ltd.

''We will open 20-25 stores this year in North India and a few in Mumbai entailing an investment of Rs 10-15 crore,'' RJ Corp Chairman Ravi Jaipuria told reporters while opening the first Disney Artist store here today.

He said the company was also in talks with major retail players like Reliance and others to set up such stores in their malls.

The store will target children in the age group of three-ten years, and would provide branded school stationary products like cards, photo album and many more.

Three nominations for Palamu by-poll cancelled

Daltonganj, Mar 10 (UNI) Nominations of three candidates filed for the March 29 by-election to the Palamu Parliamentary seat were cancelled today. District Electoral Officer Nagendra Prasad Singh here said the nominations of Lalan Bhuiyan(Samta Party), Parasnath Manjhi of Manav Mukti Morcha and Brahmdeo Ram(Independent) were cancelled. Mr Singh said the nomination of Samta Party candidate was cancelled as he mentioned it as a national party. While in the case of the other two the names of the proposers were not.....

Counting for byelections in Nagaland begins

Kohima, Mar 12 (UNI) Counting of votes for the byelections to Dimapur-I and Tuensang Sadar-II Assembly seats began at 0800 hours this morning. Polling took place on March eight. According to Election Office sources, counting of votes for both Assembly constituencies began at their respective district headquarters. In Dimapur-I Assembly seat, altogether five candidates were in the fray, while in Tuensang Sadar-II Assembly constituency, four candidates tried their luck. BJP expresses hope of winning council elections

Hyderabad, Mar 12 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today expressed hope that it would win the ensuing elections to the Legislative Council (LC) from the graduate constituencies. Addressing a press conference here, Party floor leader in Assembly G Kishan Reddy, city president Prem Singh Rathore and candidate G R Karunakar said the BJP had won six out of the eight graduate constituencies during the last four elections to the LC. The party had already conducted door-to-door campaigning in the areas.....
