Two arrested in military drugs scam

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested two persons involved in a drugs scam at the army hospital at Dhaula Kuan wherein medicines worth Rs five lakh were misappropriated from the hospital.

James John, working as a nursing assistant at the army hospital, indulged in misappropriation of medicines from the hospital and supplied them to Kuldeep Singh, a retired hawildar from the AMC, who sold the medicines off in Bhagirath Place market.

Kuldeep Singh was arrested by a special team of the crime branch from Chandni Chowk on March 13 when he had gone to supply the stolen drugs in the Bhagirath Place market.

Kuldeep's interrogation led the police to John James who was also arrested. Misappropriated medicines worth Rs 50000 were also recovered from John.

Investigation in the case is in progress and role of others in this racket is being probed, police said.

Temperatures begin to rise in HP

Shimla, Mar 4 (UNI) Coldwave conditions are abating in Himachal Pradesh with the sky remaining mainly clear over the entire state for the last three days. HC directs the MCD to remove shops from bus stops in 15 days

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today directed authorities to remove all the shops from bus stops within 15 days for the smooth movements of the public transport buses in the Capital. A bench of Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice Hima Kohli directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), New Delhi Municipal Council(NDMC) and other authorities to evict all the squaters-- water trolleys, tea stalls, pan and cigarrette shops from the bus shelters. Huge quantity of Arms, ammunition recovered in Doda

Jammu, Mar 4 (UNI) Security forces today unearthed a hideout of Harkat-Ul-Mujahideen (HUM) militants at Gandoh in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. During a search operation in Sole Top area of Gandoh, security forces recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, including two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), six IED batteries, two Chinese grenades, an AK rifle, a 12 bore gun, a gas gun, 174 AK rounds, 70 rounds of SLR, two AK magazines, a SLR magazine, one.....
