Three sentenced 10-years-RI for dowry death

Faridabad, Mar 16 (UNI) A local court here today sentenced three accused in a dowry case to 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment.

Rabinder and his parents Maya and Giriraj were accused by the victim's father for killing his daughter for dowry.

Rabinder was married to Suman a couple of years of ago. The girl was tortured by her husband and his family, and later killed by her husband out of frustration due to continuous unfulfilled dowry demands.

They were tried in the court of Additional District judge Lalit Batra, who convicted them of the crime and awarded each 10 years RI.

An FIR was lodged with the Palwal Police Station against all the three accused and they were arrested soon after the complaint, police added UNI

Municipal staff go on road roko

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Mar 16 (UNI) Councillors and staff of Cuddalore Municipality today staged a road roko to protest 'attack' on Municipal Chairman D Thangarasu of the DMK by Former Chairman A G Rajendran of the same party. Jewel shop staff held, stolen ornaments recovered

Chennai, Mar 16 (UNI) Police today arrested a jewellery shop employee for stealing 40 sovereigns of gold ornaments, at suburban Velacherry here. Police said Sugan of Rajasthan was working in the shop owned by one Mahendrakumar. He also stayed along with him. Sugan was missing since yesterday and the robbery came to light when Mahendrakumar, on suspicion, checked the stocks.
