Sarthak Behuria re-elected SCOPE Chairman

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) IndiaOil Chairman Sarthak Behuria has been re-elected as the Chairman of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the apex body of public entreprises in the country.

His tenure is for a period of two years from April 1.

Mr Behurai heads several industry organisations including Petroleum Federation of India (PetroFed), representing the country's oil organisations.

He also represents Asia on the Board of World LPGas Association.

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission has sought a factual report from the Chief Secretary and DGP, Karnataka and SP, Gulbarga, on an incident where one person was reportedly tortured by policemen at Surpur town, in Gulbarga District. Taking suo-motu cognizance of a newspaper report, the Commission said,''the incident raises serious issue of violation of human rights.'' Slight abatement of chill, minimum rises to 14 degrees C

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The chill sweeping through Delhi for the past few days somewhat abated today with the decrease in the intensification of the cold surface winds flowing through the national capital since yesterday. The decrease in the intensity of the Northwesterlies led to a sharp rise in minimum temperature to 14.0 Degree Celsius, from 10.8 degrees. The maximum also rose to 25.5 degrees, from 24 degrees yesterday. The chill could abate further in the coming days in Delhi.....

Govt releases 3.65 lakh tonne of wheat

Psychiatrists to be appointed in hospitals of para-military forces

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) Amid increasing incidence of stress-related crimes in the Central Para-military (CPFs) forces, the Union Home Ministry has decided to provide psychiatrists in all composite hospitals of CPFs with 50 beds or more. Ministry sources told UNI here today that the decision was taken in the context of assessment of the reasons leading to suicides, self-shooting and shooting of colleagues and other stress-related incidents indulged in by the personnel of para-military forces.
