Same sex couple separate after two years

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 16 (UNI) The much talked about same sex couple -- Sowmya and Sree Nandu -- has decided to separate themselves after about two years, after Soumya approached the police alleging that she was assaulted by the latter.

Sowmya lodged a complaint with the Museum Police station here yesterday alleging that Nandu had misbehaved with her and even tried to manhandle her. The police on hearing the complaint called upon Nandu, who also put in a same complaint against Soumya. After hearing both the sides, a case was registered.

This is Nandu's second separation. Before meeting Sowmya, who belonged to nearby Pathanamthitta district, she had separated from Sheela, another woman with whom she had been living for four long years. The relation between Nandu and Sheela and their separation had attracted much media attention at that time.

Cauvery agitations continue in basin districts

Manipal, Karnataka, Mar 15 (UNI) A two-day Indo-Australian conference on Human and Pharmacogenomics would be held here on March 17 and 18. 232 year old Chepauk Palace collapses

Chennai, Mar 16 (UNI) The ''Grand Chepauk palace'' a 232-year-old Heritage structure in Chennai city, collapsed here last evening. No one was injured in the incident as the palace was not in use. A government office, functioning from the place, was shifted to a new building recently.
