Champion Gardner cheats death once again

North Salt Lake, Utah, Mar 16:  Rulon Gardner is a man accustomed to beating the odds but this time he believed he was going to die.

The Olympic wrestling champion was on a single-engine plane that crashed into an icy lake last month and knew he faced having to swim for nearly two hours to survive.

Three sentenced 10-years-RI for dowry death

Faridabad, Mar 16: A local court here today sentenced three accused in a dowry case to 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment.
Rabinder and his parents Maya and Giriraj were accused by the victim's father for killing his daughter for dowry.

Rabinder was married to Suman a couple of years of ago. The girl was tortured by her husband and his family, and later killed by her husband out of frustration due to continuous unfulfilled dowry demands.

Malaysia telecom regulator names WiMAX winners

Kuala Lumpur, Mar 16:  Malaysia's telecoms industry regulator on Friday named four newcomers as winners of much-coveted WiMAX licences, further pressuring established players such as state-controlled Telekom Malaysia Bhd .

Malaysia badly lags more tech savvy nations such as Singapore and South Korea, despite a decade-long plan to become a high-tech nation.

Analysts say the decision to award the licences for WiMAX -- an emerging mobile broadband technology -- to smaller companies is aimed at accelerating competition to meet its objective of wirelessly.....
