Psychiatry wards in more Sadar Hospitals in J'khand

Ranchi, Mar 16 (UNI) The Jharkhand government has decided to come up with separate ten-beded psychiatry ward in every Sadar hospital of the state.

Replying to a short-hour question of Radhakrishna Kishore(JD-U) in the state Assembly, Health Minister Bhanu Pratap Shahi said an allotment of Rs 1.50 lakh had been made for the hospitals in Godda, Garwah, Koderma, Loherdega, Chaibasa, Gumla and Simdega, in the current fiscal for the ward.

Mr Shahi said in 2005-06 the allotment was done for the Sadar hospitals of Palamu, Giridih, Deoghar, Hazaribagh, Sahebganj, Chatra and Jamtara for the purpose, adding allocation of fund for the remaining districts would be done in next fiscal.

He further said psychiatry ward in Hazaribagh was functional whereas the construction work was on in Palamu and Giridih.

In another short-hour question of Sukhdeo Bhagat(Cong), Mr Shahi said the government would run mobile health clinic in Dumka, Hazaribagh and Daltonganj, the divisional headquarters of Santhal Pargana, North Chotanagpur and Palamu.

He said an allotment of Rs 7,52,77,000 had been made to establish mobile clinics in the areas, adding a committee had also been formed to look into the matter.

He said mobile clinics would come up after receiving report from the committee and work would be initiated in a month after inviting tenders.

Mr Shahi, while replying to Dinesh Sarangi(BJP), admitted that blankets were not distributed among the ''poor and needy'' in January as per the government's announcement due to delay in inviting tender.

Ground water pollution affects NE

Aizawl, Mar 16 (UNI) The Centre has asked all northeastern states, including Sikkim, to ensure adequate treatment of drinking water in rural areas with pollution levels in ground water table rising. Official sources here today said that apart from iron concentration in the ground water, excess fluoride and arsenic contents were also reported in drinking water sources of 54 districts in the region. ABB Chief calls for PPP to improve infrastructure

Arunachal to earn 7000 crore revenue from power: Khandu

Itanagar, Mar 16 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh would earn around Rs 7000 crore annual revenue as royalty from power projects to be executed by various central public sector undertakings and private developers by 2016, Power Minister Dorjee Khandu informed the Assembly today.
