Privilege notice against Gaur

Bhopal, Mar 16 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani today informed the House that a notice for breach of privilege against former chief minister and senior BJP leader Babulal Gaur was under his consideration and a decision on it would be taken on merit.

The Speaker made the comment during the Zero Hour when senior Congress member Satyadeo Katare pressed for taking up the notice for discussion. He disallowed the member from giving details of the notice and further discussion on it.

In his notice, Mr Katare said Mr Gaur, during discussion on the budgetary demands of his Commerce and Industries portfolios for 2007-08, had made disparaging remarks against women bringing dishonour to the house. The entire house was shocked over Mr Gaur's behaviour, he added.

Ranibodli: Relatives look for their beloved's remains

Ranibodli, Chhattisgarh, Mar 16 (UNI) Amidst a multitude of corpses, a little girl innocently touched her father's body. She was unaware of the reason for her mother's wails. They were among several grieving relatives at this Dantewada district village where 55 security personnel, including 39 tribal youth working as special police officers (SPOs), were killed when Maoist rebels raided a police camp in the pre-dawn hours yesterday......

Pakistan will be put to test on sharing of intelligence: Sharma

Shimla, Mar 16 (UNI) Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma today said Pakistan would surely be put to test to ascertain how far it had implemented the new mechanism agreed upon for the sharing of information by intelligence agencies on the activities of terrorists and their hideouts. Addressing a press conference here, Mr Sharma said investigations. into the Samjhauta Express blasts were progressing well and favourable results were expected soon. Punjab govt transfers six district police chiefs

Chandigarh, Mar 16 (UNI) In yet another major reshuffle of the police department, the Punjab government today transfered 39 police officers, including a DGP ranking officer, six district police chiefs and the border range Inspector General of Police (IGP). According to an official spokesman, Mohammed Mustafa has been shifted from the important post of IGP (border range) and has been appointed IGP Rules, against a vacant post.
