No evidence of organ trade in Nithari killings found: Govt

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The government today said no evidence has been found so far to connect Nithari incident in Noida with the trade of human organs.

Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss informed this to the Rajya Sabha in a written reply today.

However, he admitted that the Delhi Police has registered six cases of illegal trade of human organs during the past four years of which five cases were registered in 2004 and one in 2006.

In another reply, Dr Ramadoss said that enactment of a legislation for registration and regulation of Clinical Establishment was a priority of the government. However, since health is a state subject, maintenance of registry of hospitals and the diagnostic centres was the responsibility of the state government, he informed.

No formal assessment of NRHM done: Govt

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The government has done no formal assessment of the National Rural Health Mission which was launched in 2005-06, the Rajya Sabha was informed today. Under NRHM Panchayati Raj Institutions own and manage health facilities, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Anbumoni Ramadoss said in a written reply. Asked whether the PRIs face any constraints in respect to finances and expert health workers in implementing NRHM, Dr Ramadoss said NRHM provisions for flexible funds for the Panchayats.....
