Mullana raps Bhajan for criticising Sonia

Chandigarh, Mar 16 (UNI) Haryana Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana today denounced the recent statement of former chief minister Bhajan Lal wherein he had criticised Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

In a statement, Mr Mullana said Mr Bhajan Lal's statement, in which he had condemned the functioning of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in particular and Congress party in general, was unfounded, baseless and seemed to have come out of frustration.

Mr Mullana said it did not behove a person like Mr Bhajan Lal talk against Ms Sonia Gandhi who was the ''only leader in the country who strengthened the party by sacrificing a number of times.'' He also said under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the state was progressing day by day and was poised to become the number one state in the country.

PMRP for massive infrastructure development: Azad

Jammu, Mar 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said the state is recieving massive financial support under the Prime Minister's reconstruction plan for public infrastructure development. Five, including 4 nuns, killed in road accident

Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, Mar 16 (UNI) Five people including four nuns, were killed on the spot when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Siruganur on the Tiruchirapalli-Chennai National Highway early today. Police said the accident occurred when the occupants of the car were coming to Tiruchirapalli to attend a condolence meeting while a groundnut-laden lorry was proceeding to Chennai from Manaparai. The deceased were identified as Amali Shantha (53), Grethal Loha (65), Petronilal (67), Alphonse.....

Salem Division formation put on hold: Vijayakumar

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 16 (UNI) Kerala Law Minister M Vijayakumar, told the Assembly today that the Railway ministry had temporarily stopped its work or setting up a new railway division at Salem, following Kerala government's intervention. In a written reply, he said the state had also urged the Railway Ministry to allot a special ''peninsular zone'' to the state.
