Minor abducted, gangraped in Roorkee

Hardwar, Mar 16 (UNI) A minor was allegedly abducted and gangraped in Roorkee.

The victim, a resident of Migran Mohalla, Civil Lines here, was missing since last Wednesday, souces said.

On returning home yesterday, she reportedly told her parents that two youths, Rashid and Intzar, had abducted her from Solani Bridge in the city. They then took her to a room in a mosque near the graveyard, where they repeatedly raped her throughout the night and sent her home the next morning.

The duo had reportedly warned her not to speak with anyone about the incident or else she would be killed.

A case under sections 363, 376, and 342 of the IPC have been registered against the duo based on her father's report.

The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape, police sources said.

While Rashid was arrested late last evening, his accomplice Intzar is till absconding.

Court issues arrest warrants against Congress leader

Amritsar, Mar 16 (UNI) A Baba Bakala court today issued arrest warrants against prominent Congress leader and former MLA Jasbir Singh Dimpa in a criminal case registered under section 302 and other sections of the IPC at the Beas police station.
