Mahindra launches new Bolero

Chennai, Mar 16 (UNI) Automobile giant Mahindra and Mahindra today launched the new Bolero, the second generation of one of the popular SUVs.

The new Bolero has been styled with a wide array of interior and exterior features that appeal to the younger generation of car lovers.

Speaking to newspersons after the launch, Senior General Manager (sales) Bhartendu Kapoor and Senior Brand Manager Ravindra Shahane claimed that with this, the company had reinforced its leadership further in the SUV segment.

'The SUV had evolved over the years as the clear favourite across the country, being a superior value offering versatile application across all kinds of terrain and customer needs. Now, the new Bolero sports a host of new features and aesthetics that match the lifestyle aspirations of buyers too,' they added.

They said the new Bolero is competitively priced, ranging from Bolero DI BS II at Rs 4.68 lakh to Bolero SLX BS II at Rs 5.75 lakh.

The new brand would be rolled out, in a phased manner, before the end of this month.

They said the new vehicles were available at their showrooms in six attractive colours. The unique Mahindra engine design provided a fuel economy of 15 km per litre and the vehicles front suspension was built to withstand tough road conditions while giving passengers utmost comfort.

To a question, they said they had made an additional investment of Rs 20 crore for rolling out this new product.

Karnataka minister injured in accident

Mysore, Mar 13 (UNI) Karnataka cooperative minister G T Deve Gowda was injured in an accident when his car was hit by a another car on the Mysore - Nanjangud road late last night. Mr Devegowda was returning to the Mysore city after attending the village festival at Chikka Kanya, near here, when the mishap occurred. Though the injuries were not serious, he was admitted to a private hospital here. Police have seized the car and arrested the driver and investigation.....

India asked to create spectrum for 3G technology

Bangalore, Mar 13 (UNI) To sustain the robust growth being witnessed in the telecom sector in the country and achieve the set target of 500 million broadband connections by 2010, India needs to create a spectrum for operating 3G technology as against the present GSM and CDMA, Qualcomm Chief Technology Advisor Nikhil Jain said today. Addressing newspersons here, he said that while neighbouring Sri Lanka and Pakistan have evinced keen interest in adopting 3G technology, the Union Government was yet to.....

Idol in TN temple worth Rs 15 lakh missing

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nad, Mar 16 (UNI) The 175 ft Panchaloka idol weighing 11 kgs and worth Rs 15 lakh was stolen from Maliswaran temple at Chengalmal in Kelambakkam, near here yesterday. Police said the watchman of the temple noticed a stranger leaving the temple premises during the morning pooja. The temple authorities chase went in vain as the stranger managed to escape. When they searched the room in which the valuables were stored, the found the idol of the deity Chandrasekaraswamy.....
