Home of former DG Income Tax raided

Pune, Mar 16 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided the flat of former Director General Income Tax (investigation) at Oxford village in Kondhawa area here.

The raid was undertaken by the CBI after two private companies filed a complaint stating that Mr S K Sharma had demanded a bribe from them.

Mr Sharma, during his tenure, had raided various educational institutions in the city over tax evasion.

He retired in December 2006 after a brief stint in Delhi.

India hosts opening ceremony of ITB-Berlin

Chaturvedi files bail application in session court

Mumbai, Mar 16 (UNI) Noted builder Rajendra Chaturvedi, who was arrested on March eight for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy to eliminate rival builder, filed a bail application today in the session court. The bail application was filed on the grounds that section 302 (murder), which is levelled against him is not maintainable because nobody has died, secondly section 115 (abetment) which is bailable offence and thirdly the sharp shooter has not identified him so far. Tiger to enliven Sarsiska environs once more

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Tigers from Ranthambhore may soon stalk the forests of Sariska. The sanctuary, which had become infamous creating nationwide uproar for having lost all of its tiger population, will be made rehabitable for the species threatened with extinction. The first task was to remove human habitation which were disturbing the life of the animals, and initially the Ministry of Forests and Environment had taken up four villages for relocation, Director Project Tiger Rajesh Gopal told UNI......
