HAL official caught redhanded while accepting bribe

Bangalore, Mar 16 (UNI) An Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) officer was today caught redhanded by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths while accepting a bribe for showing official favour.

According to a release here, HAL Central Salvage Chief Supervisor C K Ravunni Kutty was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 as against his demand of Rs 1,20,000 for allowing M/s Universal Enterprise proprietor Syed Hussain to lift plastic scrap from the Central Salvage as per contract.

The contract was originally awarded to Mr Imtiyaz of Imtiyaz Trading Company, who had inturn authorised Mr Hussain to lift plastic scrap.

On receiving a complaint from Mr Hussain, the CBI sleuths laid a trap and arrested Mr Kutty under section seven of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He would be produced before the XXI Additional City Civil Sessions and Special Judge for CBI cases here tomorrow.

Karantaka to introduce title insurance to safeguard property

Bangalore, Mar 16 (UNI) Curbing the menace of land encroachment in Bangalore, Karnataka today announced introduction of title deeds insurance besides establishment of Bangalore Developers, Builders and House Owners Repository. Apang pleads for peace bonus to Arunachal

Itanagar, Feb 20 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang today urged the Centre to announce peace bonus for the state, which has been maintaining its status of 'Island of Peace', since its inception.
