Chautala slams Haryana budget

Chandigarh, Mar 16 (UNI) Former chief minister and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo Om Parkash Chautala has slammed the Haryana Budget as ''directionless and disappointing for all sections of the society''.

In a statement here, Mr Chautala said no relief had been given in the budget to peasantry, traders, employees, women and the youth.

''In these times of rising prices, middle class families have been further burdened by imposing a cess on banquet halls, lawns and marriage palaces,'' he said adding that the people of all sections of society had high hopes from the Budget but Mr Birender Singh had disappointed them all.

Meanwhile, PHDCCI has lauded the budget on account of efficient management of state finances and encouraging independent renewable energy projects.
