3 arrested in obscene MMS case, journos, policemen under scanner

Dehradun, Mar 16 (UNI) Uttarakhand Police today arrested three persons in connection with the circulation of an obscene MMS of a woman that evoked public uproar in Srinagar in Pauri district on March 11.

Pauri Superintendent of Police A P Anshuman told reporters that Rahul Bhatt has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing the woman.

He said Ankit and Gulfam Ahmed were arrested and booked under Section 294 of IPC and IT Act.

All the three are in the 20-25 age group, he added.

Police had earlier arrested one Faizal Khan on March 11. Mr Anshuman said video clippings was being sent for forensic analysis and further investigation would be carried out after the reports are recieved.

He said a few policemen and media persons were also being interrogated for their alleged involvement in money transaction in the episode.

Circulation of obscene video clippings of an 18-year-old woman led to public uproar in the district on March 11. Students had attacked shops owned by members of a particular commuinity. Police had to resort to baton charge to quell the unrest. The students also 'gheraoed' the police station seeking action against the culprit.

Al-Madina and Al-Badr bans cable operators in Kashmir

Ayodhya civil suit hearing on April 9

Lucknow, Mar 16 (UNI) Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today posted the next hearing in the Ayodhya civil suit to April 9. The order was passed by a special bench comprising Justices S R Alam, O P Srivastava and D V Sharma after hearing the two parties on a writ petition filed by Sunni Central Waqf Board. Earlier, Faizabad divisional commissioner filed his affidavit in the case. The petitioner had alleged that changes had been effected at the disputed site.....

Seven injured, Auqaf buiding and mosque gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 4 (UNI) Seven persons were injured in two different road accidents while four houses, an Auqaf building and a mosque were gutted in the valley overnight, a police spoksman said today. He said a speeding vehicle hit and injured Showkat Ahmad at Samthan on the National Highway in south Kashmir district of Anantnag today. He has been hospitalised. A passenger bus overturned at Chowgund Rain in Anantnag district, injuring six passengers. The injured have been hospitalised. Fire broke out.....
