2 undertrials thrash cop in court

Ahmedabad, Mar 16 (UNI) A police constable was beaten up today by two prisoners of the Sabarmati jail after they were refused to meet their relatives in the Gheekanta metropolitan court here.

The incident occurred this afternoon when the undertrials Nagin Marwadi and Mukesh Rawat beat up the constable Kishoresinh when he refused to allow them to meet their relatives. The constable has been injured. The two were brought to the court for hearing of their case.

The accused had expressed their desire to meet their relatives and when the constable on duty refused, the duo then thrashed him.

However, the two accused later said the constable Kishoresinh was demanding money for allowing them to meet their relatives.

Quattrocchi case:SC adjourns contempt writ hearing for 4 weeks

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The Supreme Court today adjourned for four weeks the hearing of contempt of court petition filed by an advocate against CBI Director and DIG for deliberately suppressing material facts from the apex court regarding the detention of main suspect in Bofors Gun Scandal Ottavio Quattrocchi by Argentinian authorities of February 6 and later his release on bail on February 23. Holi celebrated with traditional gusto

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Holi was celebrated with enthusiasm across the country today as people poured colours on each other and exchanged greetings. In the national capital, President A P J Abdul Kalam played Holi with over 100 children some of them disabled or orpahaned. The children also performed a Holi dance and sang songs from films.
