Two arrested with ivories in National Rajaji Park

Dehradun, Mar 15 (UNI) Forest Officials arrested two persons and recovered two elephant ivories weighing 19.1kg from Rasulpur area in Rajaji National Park on tuesday, official said.

DFO Chila Range, Girija Shankar Pandey yesterday said that on a tip off, team of Forest Range Officers raided a place at Village Rasulpur under thana Shyampur in Haridwar district at around 2200 hrs and arrested Shankar Datt and Jagdish Chandra and recovered two ivories from them that measured 1.38 metres each and collectively weighed 19.1 kg.

Both of them have been taken into custody and a high level inquiry has been ordered, Mr Pandey said.

Ragging: eight students expelled

Bhopal, Mar 15 (UNI) The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) has expelled eight second year students for an indefinite period for ragging more than ten students. A first year student had lodged a complaint in this regard.
