Ten, including seven of a family, die as earth caves in

Dhanbad, Mar 15 (UNI) Ten people, including seven of a family, were killed after land caved in near residential colony of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL)'s Kusunda coal mines in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district in the wee hours today.

Five critically injured were admitted to Central Hospital here.

Police said mine loader Md Shamim, his wife and five others of the family were killed on the spot adding another three people also died in the accident.

According to official sources, the government had been advising the people of that locality to shift to another site but they refused to oblige. A fire zone was underneath the spot, the sources said.

The earth caved in at about 0300 hrs to 0400 hrs.

The bodies were sent for post mortem.
