Ten die as earth caves in near Kusunda mines

Dhanbad, Mar 15 (UNI) Ten people, including seven of a family, were killed when land caved in near a residential colony of Bharat Coking Coal Limited(BCCL)'s Kusunda coal mines here early today.

Official sources said five people were admitted to the Central Hospital here in a critical condition.

Police said mine loader Md Shamim, his wife and five of his family members were killed on the spot. Three more persons also died in the accident.

According to official sources a fire zone existed underneath the earth creating a hollow.

The authorities had been urging the local people to shift but they refused.

Today's incident occurred between 0300 - 0400 hours.

The bodies had been sent for post mortem.

Bihar Assembly transacts business with empty opposition benches

Patna, Mar 15 (UNI) Bihar Assembly today transacted normal business in the House without any hitch as the Opposition, barring Samajwadi Party, continued their boycott for the third consecutive day today.
