TDP forces adjournment of AP House on 'land scam'

Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today forced adjournment of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on 'land scam' in Ranga Reddy District.

During the Zero Hour, Mr V Narender Reddy (TDP) alleged 1,200 acre of government land was illegally alienated in the district.

This land was given to one Raja Siva Bahadur, an officer of the Nizam's regime by the former ruler. After his death, the land was taken over by the government in 1950 as he had no heir.

Mr Reddy said recently someone claiming to be Bahadur's legal heir acquired and sold the land of which 393 acre was purchased and registered by a Congress ZPTC member who happened to be a relative of Government Advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao.

The TDP MLA wanted to know how a ZPTC member could have so much money for purchasing the land.

Dr Reddy claimed the MRO of the area went to the court on the sale and sought a reply from the government.

Speaker K R Suresh Reddy said during Question Hour only matters raised could be noted down and no reply would be given.

Meanwhile, Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said it was highly improper on the part of a member to make allegation against a person in high post without prior notice.

He reminded the member that he himself admitted the government had filed the case and was trying to get back the land.

After the Minister's reply, TDP members rushed to Well of the House and started shouting. In the din, nothing could be heard.

The Speaker, who announced the Zero Hour, adjourned the House for fifteen minutes for 'tea break' amid pandemonium.
