Son brutally murders father

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 15 (UNI) A senior official of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) here was brutually murdered by his teenaged son at home in Ezhil Nagar on the city outskirts late last night over a domestic quarrel.

A senior civil manager with the BHEL, Nandagopal (48) used to frequently quarrel with his wife.

Last night, the couple had heated arguments during which N Ramkarthik (19) stabbed Nandagopal at 30 places with a knife.

Nandagopal fell dead in a pool of blood. His wife, who tried to intervene, received a stab injury and was admitted to a hospital.

Ramkarthik then surrendered before the police along with the weapon used in the crime.

Police track e-mail threat source; one held

Chennai, Mar 15 (UNI) The Cyber Crime Wing of the City Police arrested a software engineer on charges of sending an e-mail threat to the Police Commissioner's Office stating that bombs would explode at Chennai Central and Egmore Railway stations and Rippon Building, the headquarters of the Chennai Corporation.
