Partial solar eclipse on Mar 19

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) A partial eclipse of the Sun will occur in the morning of March 19, and will be visible in India from 0609 hrs to 0807 hrs.

The greatest phase and the ending of the eclipse will be visible from all parts of India.

But the beginning will be visible only from the eastern, north eastern, and some northern places.

The remaining parts of the country will see the sunrise after the eclipse begins, an offical statement said today.

In Delhi, which will not witness the beginning, the greatest phase of the eclipse will occur at 0706 hrs and the ending at 0801 hrs.

In Mumbai, the greates phase will be visible at 0652 hrs and the ending at 0737 hrs.

In Chennai and Bangalore, the greatest phase will be at 0644 hrs and at ending at 0723 hrs.

In Hyderabad the greatest phase will be visible at 0650 hrs, and the ending at 0734 hrs.

The eclipse begins at 0609 hrs in Bhubaneshwar, Puri and Koraput, 0610 hrs in Cuttack, 0611 hrs in Kolkota and Midnapore, 0612 hrs at Gaya, Hazaribagh and Port Blair, Patna, 0613 hrs at Allahabad, Agartala and Bhagalpur, 0614 hrs at Aizwal, 0615 hrs at Imphal, Darjeeling and Cooch Behar, 0616 hrs at Gangtok and Guwahati, 0617 hrs at Itanagar, and 0618 hrs at Dibrugarh.

Left MPs demand PM's intervention on Maritime University Bill

Gujarat MPs demand shifting of Western Railway hqs to Ahmedabad

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) A delegation of BJP MPs from Gujarat today called on Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, and urged him to solve the long-pending issues of railways pertaining to the state, including shifting of headquarters of Western Railway from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. In a memorandum submitted to the Railway Minister, the MPs stated that keeping in view the fact that 90 per cent of the Western Railway lines falls in the territory of Gujarat, its headquarters should be shifted.....

NHRC notice to W Bengal govt on Nandigram violence

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today sent notice to West Bengal government on Nandigram violence and sought a factual report within two weeks on the incident. The Commission directed the state Chief Secretary and the DGP for factual report on the incident, in which 14 people were killed in police firing.
