One Asst. Sub-Inspector and a constable suspended for negligence

Mysore, Mar 15 (UNI) One Assistant Sub-Inspector and a Constable were kept under suspension for negligence in their duty while escorting Karnataka Cooperative Minister G T Deve Gowda who was injured when his car met with an accident on March 13 on Mysore-Nanjangud road while returning after attending village festival at Chikka Kanya, near here.

District Superintendent of Police S Murugan said that the action was based on a report from Deputy Superintendent of Police Cheluvaraju who probed into the incident. "It was the duty of escort to lead the VIP convoy and ply at a particular distance and should not speed away. In this case it was alleged that the escort jeep, in which the Assistant Sub-Inspector was traveling and the Constable was driving, was far away from the accident spot", he added Meanwhile, Mr Gowda, who was admitted to a private hospital for injuries, was recovering and may be discharged shortly.

GE Healthcare to enhance presence in India

Same sex couple separate after two years

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 16 (UNI) The much talked about same sex couple -- Sowmya and Sree Nandu -- has decided to separate themselves after about two years, after Soumya approached the police alleging that she was assaulted by the latter. Sowmya lodged a complaint with the Museum Police station here yesterday alleging that Nandu had misbehaved with her and even tried to manhandle her. The police on hearing the complaint called upon Nandu, who also put in a same complaint against Soumya......

Altera introduces low cost FPGA

Bangalore, Mar 15 (UNI) Altera Corporation today announced the availability of Cyclone III family, the industry's first 65 nm low cost Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)s. The new FPGAs consume 75 per cent less power than competing products and deliver 5000 to 120,000 logic elements, upto four Mbits of memory and upto 288 digital signal processing multipliers, Altera Marketing manager for Asia Pacific Razak Mohammadali told newsmen here. He said more than 80,000 products are currently developed using FPGAs and over.....
